Kukhela Mining LDA

Kukhela Mining LDA is a mining exploration company actively developing the Namuno Gold Project located in the Namuno District of Cabo Delgado Province, Mozambique. The company aims to responsibly explore this prospective gold-bearing region and tap into its significant mineral resources, including gold and associated minerals, with the goal of delivering value to investors and supporting the local economy.

The Namuno Gold Project is located 3 km northeast of Namuno town, in Cabo Delgado Province, Mozambique. The license area, under License 11873L, covers a substantial 191.4909 sq. km and is strategically situated near the Montepuez-Namuno highway, which passes through the license area, providing excellent accessibility. Cabo Delgado Province is situated in northeastern Mozambique and is bordered by Tanzania to the north and the Indian Ocean to the east, making it a logistically advantageous region for mining operations..  

Gold mineralization within the Namuno license area primarily occurs in alluvial deposits. The alluvium, containing a mixture of clay, silt, sand, and gravel, rests over weathered banded gneiss, with artisanal miners extracting gold from these deposits. The geological structure also presents the potential for discovering primary gold deposits in the quartz veins and host rocks of the amphibolite gneiss. Pegmatites in the region, enriched with K-feldspar, plagioclase, and tourmaline, suggest additional opportunities for gemstone exploration.

The Namuno license area lies in a structurally significant part of Cabo Delgado Province. The region consists of amphibolitic gneiss and granitoids, intruded by pegmatites, which are favorable for mineralization. The geological formations in this area are part of the Xixano and Montepuez Complexes dating from the Mesoproterozoic and Neoproterozoic eras. These formations are known for hosting significant mineral deposits, including gold and rubies. The geological diversity, including metamorphic and igneous formations, offers promising potential for further exploration of both primary and alluvial gold. 

Fieldwork: Geological fieldwork was conducted in June 2024, covering key areas of the license where artisanal mining was observed. Artisanal Mining: Locals are engaged in extracting alluvial gold from the Namicuio River and surrounding areas. The presence of a 1.5-meter-thick alluvial deposit overlying weathered banded gneis2s and a gravel bed highlights the gold-bearing potential of the area. Pegmatite Intrusions: In addition to gold, pegmatite intrusions were observed in several locations, indicating potential for gemstone discoveries, including garnets and possibly rubies.

Proven Gold Presence: Active artisanal mining has confirmed gold mineralization in the license area, reducing initial exploration risk. Strategic Location: The project benefits from proximity to the Montepuez-Namuno highway, providing excellent logistical support. Large License Area: With a total of 191.4909 sq. km, the Namuno license offers extensive unexplored land, presenting significant opportunities for further discoveries. Rich Geological Diversity: The region’s geological formations, including amphibolitic gneiss and pegmatites, increase the potential for both gold and gemstone exploration. Alluvial Gold Potential: The license area has large deposits of alluvial gold, offering immediate opportunities for mechanized extraction and recovery.
