What We Do:

Kukhela Mining LDA is leading the Moatize Iron Project in Tete Province, Mozambique, with a focus on exploring and developing iron ore and associated base and precious metals. The company’s commitment is to expand Mozambique’s mineral resource base while ensuring responsible and sustainable mining practices in the Moatize and Chiuta Districts.

Project Location:

The Moatize Iron Project spans 23,644.95 hectares (236.4495 sq. km) in the Tete Province, situated 35 km south of Tete city and 50 km north of Cazula town. The site is accessible through secondary mud and dirt roads, usable year-round. Tete’s proximity to Zimbabwe, Zambia, and Malawi provides strong regional connectivity, supported by the Zambezi River as a local water source and Tete's airport as the closest major air transit point.

Mineralization Potential:

Iron mineralization is evident in the form of magnetite floats and bands* distributed across the license area, with some exposed deposits reaching up to 12 meters in width and 15 meters in length. XRF analysis of field samples reveals high iron concentrations, ranging from *25.66% to 45.53% Fe. In addition to iron, traces of **titanium* and *vanadium* suggest the potential for by-product recovery. The complex geological structures indicate potential for further discoveries of iron, titanium, and other metals within the project boundaries..

Geological Details:

The project area lies within the Tete Complex, part of Mozambique’s broader Zambezi Belt, and consists primarily of anorthosite, gabbro, and mafic dykes. The complex is characterized by high-grade metamorphism* and tectonic activity, contributing to significant mineralization potential. The Sanangoe Shear Zone (SSZ), a prominent regional structure, divides the Tete Complex into distinct mineral-bearing formations. Iron mineralization is associated with magnetite bands and anorthosite-gabbro formations found in the license area, hinting at a favorable environment for iron ore formation.

Exploration Highlights:

Field Traverses: A total of 108 km of field traverses and sampling covered various zones, focusing on mapping mineralized areas and rock types. Artisanal Mining Activity: Active artisanal pits in the northern sector have revealed consistent gold mineralization, including visible gold in quartz veins. Sample Processing: Collected samples, including pyrite-bearing quartz and altered rocks, showed indicators of gold mineralization, warranting further mechanized processing. Structural Mapping: Key structural orientations, including N80E and N56E, support the existence of gold-rich zones, informing targeted exploration and drilling plans.

Positives for Investors:

High-Grade Gold Potential: Evidence of primary and secondary gold mineralization, along with visible gold in quartz veins, indicates excellent potential for large-scale recovery. Strategic Infrastructure: Access to highways, nearby water sources, and the Mavuzi Power Station ensures logistical and operational support for exploration and future development. Experienced Workforce: The presence of artisanal mining and the local community’s familiarity with mining activities provide a skilled workforce and community support. Exploration Expansion: With promising initial findings and a favorable geological setting, the Chibuto Gold Project offers significant scope for further exploration and potential resource expansion.

Investment Opportunity:

The Chibuto Gold Project represents a robust investment opportunity in Mozambique’s emerging gold sector. Mwathu Mining LDA’s licenses span areas with confirmed alluvial and bedrock gold, supporting both immediate and scalable extraction opportunities. By investing in advanced exploration, investors can capitalize on the high-margin gold resources available, benefiting from an established infrastructure network and a favorable regulatory environment for mineral resource development. This project promises strong returns and aligns with the growing global demand for gold.
