What We Do:

Mwathu Mining LDA, based in Mozambique, is driving the development of the Chibuto Gold Project (License No. 11493L) in the Gondola District, Manica Province. With a focus on responsible mineral exploration, Mwathu Mining LDA aims to establish a significant footprint in Mozambique's growing mineral sector, particularly in gold and associated minerals.

Project Location

The Chibuto Gold Project spans 11,827.87 hectares (118.27 sq. km) in the Gondola District, located approximately 30 kilometers south of Inchope and 165 kilometers west of Beira. The project is accessible by National Highway N1, linking it to key transport routes. Its close proximity to local infrastructure, including power sources like the Mavuzi Hydroelectric Power Station (40 km away), provides logistical and operational advantages.

Geological Details:

The license area is situated within the Báruè Complex, part of the Macossa-Chimoio Nappe system in Central Mozambique. Predominantly composed of siliciclastic metasediments, mica schist, gabbro, and ortho-gneiss, the area has a geological history of high-grade metamorphic events. The granite and granodiorite intrusions found here contain quartz veins and stringers, indicating the potential for mineralization. Structural deformation and shearing have formed north-northeast trending zones, which are essential for the migration and deposition of gold-sulfide mineralizing fluids.

Mineralization Potential:

Gold mineralization is primarily associated with quartz veins within sheared zones, ranging in width from a few millimeters to 30 centimeters. The presence of sulfides like pyrite and visible gold in some quartz veins highlights the potential for gold. Artisanal mining pits have shown evidence of both hard rock and alluvial gold, with mineralization appearing in oxidized and fresh quartz veins. Initial findings suggest that the area has promising gold potential, especially in the northern part of the license.

Exploration Highlights:

Field Traverses: A total of 108 km of field traverses and sampling covered various zones, focusing on mapping mineralized areas and rock types. Artisanal Mining Activity: Active artisanal pits in the northern sector have revealed consistent gold mineralization, including visible gold in quartz veins. Sample analysis: A total of 7 rock chip samples and 2 grab samples were collected from 3 artisanal mining area, focusing mainly on quartz vein zones for subjecting to fire assay for gold analysis. The values are in the range of 0.13g/t to 15.12g/t Au Structural Mapping: Key structural orientations, including N80E and N56E, support the existence of gold-rich zones, informing targeted exploration and drilling plans.

Positives for Investors:

High-Grade Gold Potential: Evidence of primary and secondary gold mineralization, along with visible gold in quartz veins, indicates excellent potential for large-scale recovery. Strategic Infrastructure: Access to highways, nearby water sources, and the Mavuzi Power Station ensures logistical and operational support for exploration and future development. Experienced Workforce: The presence of artisanal mining and the local community’s familiarity with mining activities provide a skilled workforce and community support. Exploration Expansion: With promising initial findings and a favorable geological setting, the Chibuto Gold Project offers significant scope for further exploration and potential resource expansion.

Investment Opportunity:

The Chibuto Gold Project represents a robust investment opportunity in Mozambique’s emerging gold sector. Mwathu Mining LDA’s licenses span areas with confirmed alluvial and bedrock gold, supporting both immediate and scalable extraction opportunities. By investing in advanced exploration, investors can capitalize on the high-margin gold resources available, benefiting from an established infrastructure network and a favorable regulatory environment for mineral resource development. This project promises strong returns and aligns with the growing global demand for gold.
