What We Do:

Africa Mining LDA is leading the development of the Milange Ruby & Sapphire Project, located in the Milange District, Zambezia Province, Mozambique. Africa Mining is committed to responsibly developing high-value gemstone resources, with a strong focus on innovation, sustainable mining practices, and local community development.

Project Location

The Milange Ruby & Sapphire Project is located 64 km southwest of Milange town, in the Zambezia Province of Mozambique, a region well-known for its rich geological formations. The site is easily accessible through a network of roads, providing a logistical advantage for both operations and future expansions. Its proximity to the Malawi border allows for straightforward export routes, enhancing the project’s commercial viability..

Geological Details:

The project is situated within a highly favorable geological setting dominated by migmatitic gneiss, leucocratic gneiss, and mafic-ultramafic rocks. These rock types are known for hosting valuable gemstones, including ruby, sapphire, and aquamarine. The license area is characterized by: Meta-gabbro and meta-pyroxenite intrusions: These rocks are typically associated with ruby mineralization, making them a key focus of exploration. Pegmatite intrusions: Pegmatites containing coarse biotite mica and ruby crystals provide significant potential for high-quality gemstone extraction.

Mineralization Potential:

Initial field studies and trenching have confirmed the presence of subhedral ruby and aquamarine crystals, indicating robust gemstone potential. The findings suggest both primary and secondary deposits are present, including: Primary deposits: Ruby and sapphire mineralization in meta-ultramafic rocks and pegmatite veins. These rocks are known to host high-value gemstones and are the main focus for ongoing exploration. Secondary (placer) deposits: Weathering and erosion processes have transported rubies into stream beds, creating potential alluvial deposits for easier extraction.

Exploration Highlights & Sampling :

Exploration Highlights & Sampling : Exploration work has revealed promising signs of gemstone mineralization, with ruby and aquamarine already observed in local artisanal pits. The presence of these gemstones, along with the region's complex geological history, suggests the potential for further discoveries of other valuable minerals. Recent exploration covered 22 km of traverses within the concession area, confirming gemstone presence and ideal conditions for continued trenching and pit expansion. Coordinates and sampling points across 9 trenches have shown consistent recovery of ruby and aquamarine, highlighting the rich potential of the concession area.

Positives for Investors:

High-Grade Gemstone Potential: The project offers the opportunity to tap into high-quality ruby and sapphire deposits, with excellent prospects for long-term extraction and profitability. Expansive License Area: Africa Mining LDA’s 197.25 square kilometer license area ensures access to a large, unexplored terrain with tremendous upside potential for additional gemstone discoveries. Low-Cost Development & Scalability: The project’s location, coupled with favorable weather conditions and proximity to essential infrastructure, provides a low operational cost base. The initial small-scale artisanal findings can quickly transition into a scalable commercial operation. Proven Exploration Results: Early exploration activities have confirmed substantial ruby and aquamarine deposits, with ongoing exploration expected to further increase confidence in resource estimates. Sustainability and Community Focus: Africa Mining LDA emphasizes responsible mining practices that benefit local communities, including employment generation and infrastructure development, providing both economic and social returns on investment.
