What We Do:

Mwathu Mining LDA is leading the development of the Messica Gold Project, located in Manica District, Mozambique. The company aims to responsibly explore and capitalize on the region's significant gold resources. Mwathu Mining is focused on ensuring sustainable operations in the mining sector, with a particular focus on gold and associated minerals.

Project Location

The Messica Gold Project, under License 11795L, is situated 4 km north of Messica town in the Manica District, Mozambique. Covering an area of 50.0756 sq. km, the project is easily accessible via the N6 highway, followed by secondary dirt roads. The proximity to transportation routes, including a railway connecting Beira to Zimbabwe, provides logistical advantages for mining activities.

Mineralization Potential:

The primary form of mineralization in the Messica Gold Project is alluvial gold, deposited in the gravel beds of rivers passing through the granite-greenstone terrain. Previous artisanal work and current mining activities have revealed promising concentrations of gold in the river sediments. The main rivers in the license area flow through known gold-bearing formations, offering potential for both alluvial and primary gold deposits.

Geological Details:

The project area is part of the Zimbabwe Craton's eastern extension. The license lies within the granite-greenstone belt, characterized by ancient rocks that are heavily deformed by tectonic activities. The geological formations include foliated granites, Meta basalts, and mafic intrusives, which are favorable for gold deposits. This region has seen extensive alluvial and primary gold mining activity, indicating a highly prospective environment for continued exploration.

Exploration Highlights:

Fieldwork: Conducted in May 2024, the geological team traversed approximately 2-line kilometers in the central part of the license area, examining alluvial mining activities. Alluvial Gold Potential: Several areas along the Chemezi and Revue Rivers showed evidence of significant alluvial mining activity. The gravel zones beneath thick soil cover contain gold-bearing material, confirming the region’s potential for further alluvial gold extraction. Mining Activity: A camp is being established to support alluvial mining operations along the Chemezi River, with further exploration planned for the northern and eastern parts of the license area.

Positives for Investors:

High Gold Potential: The project area is located in a historically productive gold region with significant alluvial and primary gold deposits. Strategic Location: Close proximity to roads, railways, and infrastructure in Messica and Chimoio provides excellent logistical support for mining operations. Untapped Potential: Large portions of the 50.0756 sq. km license area remain underexplored, offering opportunities for discovering new gold-bearing zones. Established Mining Activity: The presence of artisanal mining and newly planned alluvial mining operations ensures that gold recovery is already underway, reducing initial exploration risks.

Investment Opportunity:

The Messica Gold Project presents a unique opportunity to capitalize on a high-margin gold resource in a geologically favorable region. Mwathu Mining LDA seeks investment to scale alluvial gold mining operations and explore the primary gold potential within the foliated granite formations. Early exploration results show strong indicators of gold mineralization, and ongoing work will further delineate the most promising areas.
